The Agathonos Monastery (Greek: Μονή Αγάθωνος) is a Greek Orthodox male monastery in Phthiotis, Central Greece. The monastery is located on the northern slopes of Mount Oeta, some 3 km west of the town of Ypati. The monastery's katholikon dates to the 15th century, which is also when the monastery was probably founded, although it may have antecedents as early as 1271, when the ruler of Thessaly, John I Doukas, received horses in the locality. The katholikon is of the Athonite variety of the cross-in-square church with two conchs, narthex, and exonarthex, with four attached chapels on each corner. The main church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and the chapels to the Transfiguration (southeast), the Holy Apostles (northeast), Saint Charalambos (northwest), and Saint John (southwest). Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Lemnos, of which it is a municipal unit. It covers the west coast of the island, and has a land area of 82.049 square kilometres (31.679 sq mi), about 17.2% of the island's area. Its municipal seat was the town of Mýrina, located in the middle of the island's west coast. The town is also the capital of Lemnos, as well as the seat of the Metropolitan (Greek Orthodox bishop) of Lemnos. In addition to the town of Myrina, the municipal unit includes the communities of Káspakas, Platý, Thános, and Kornós. The 2021 census recorded 6,190 residents in the town and 8,518 residents in the municipal unit.

Karaburun is a municipality and district of İzmir Province, in western Turkey. Its area is 421 km2, and its population is 12,200 (2022). The district area roughly corresponds to the peninsula of the same name (Karaburun Peninsula) which spears north of the tourism resorts of neighboring Çeşme and its dependencies and west of the city of İzmir. In fact, the district area is one of the westernmost points of Anatolia. Karaburun town is situated close to the northern tip of the peninsula and checks the entry of the Gulf of İzmir with the town of Foça, another important tourism resort, across the waters. 'Monastery of the Place of the Cannon') is a Greek Orthodox monastery located in a semi-arid area of the Lasithi region, on the eastern part of the island of Crete, Greece. Situated approximately 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) north of Palekastro and 85 km (53 mi) east of Agios Nikolaos, it is at the base of the Itanos promontory from which Cape Sidero, the easternmost point of Crete, projects to the northeast. The nearest settlements are Sitia to the west and Palaikastro to the southeast; otherwise, the entire promontory is uninhabited except for the modern military reservation at the tip of the cape.

Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Amphipoli, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 79.241 km2. The population of the municipal unit was 1,546 at the 2021 census. Near Proti has been found an archaeological site that is probably identified with the Roman station of via Egnatia Domeros. From here comes also various ancient inscriptions, among which a Latin inscription that mentions the inhabitants of two ancient settlements (i.e. "Montani" and "Suritani").

De asemenea, insula Chios mai este cunoscută și ca „insula parfumurilor” ("smelling island") - datorită florilor care cresc la tot pasul, de o diversitate coloristică deosebită. Dar ceea ce face cu adevărat deosebită insula este arborele de mastic, care crește numai în această insulă, în zona numită „Satele de Mastic”. Arborele de mastic produce o rășina puțin opacă - care are proprietăți curative în tratarea, în special, a bolilor aparatului digestiv.
