Dimitris Christodoulou (Greek: Δημήτρης Χριστοδούλου) was born in Athens in 1924. He studied at the Drama School of the National Theatre and attended courses in Political Science at Panteion University. During the Occupation he joined EAM, while in the years 1944-1945 was held prisoner by the British in the El Daba camp in Egypt for three months. Appeared in Greek letters in 1952, when the poem “night watchman” was published in the journal Macedonian Letters. In the period 1967 - 1972, Dimitris Christodoulou lived in Paris. He issued 27 collections of poetry, 15 novels, five short stories and wrote 13 plays. Great was the contribution as lyricist, and wrote some of the greatest songs of Greek pentagram, which he set to music great and important composers such as Mikis Theodorakis, Stavros Xarchakos, Manos Loizos, Christos Leondis, Nikos Mamangakis, Notis Mavroudis and also Linos Kokkotos, Mimis Plessas, Giorgos Zampetas and Kostas Hatzis.
