Dinos Iliopoulos

In memoriam

Greek Actor.Dinos Iliopoulos was born in Alexandria, Egypt, on June 12, 1913. The Peloponnesian origin-father was a merchant and after the financial crash of 1929 the numerous family he left for Marseilles, where the Dinos finished high school. In Athens, arrived six years later, followed by business studies. He served his term in the army, but his dismissal from it coincided with the start of the war of 1940, so xanantythike in khaki. Later tests given at the Drama School of the then Royal Theatre, where rejected, to eventually pass the School of Giannoulis Sarantidis. In the theater first appeared in 1944 with the troupe of Katerina in his Leo Lentas "Lady, I love you" and has since participated in the troupes of Marika poultry, Mary Aroni, Dimitris Horn and many others. In 1954 the troupe formed Mimis Fotopoulos, which were unique comic duo. Three years later in 1969 to create his own troupe, bringing projects like "The koroidaki of Miss," "The Lady of the Lord," "The smart bird," "My friend Lefterakis", "Holiday center of Eros" etc. The years turned to the inspection, he starred in musicals ("Cabaret," "Sweet Irma"), toured the U.S. and Canada. The 1977 interpreted the "Amfitryona" of Plautus at the National Theatre and in 1978 appeared at Epidaurus and the Odeon with "Thesmoforiazouses" by Aristophanes, directed by Al. Solomos. For his contribution to theater was awarded the Gold Cross George A '. Dinos Iliopoulos had worship and the seventh art. The movie had entered his life since 1948 when it debuted on the big screen in the movie "A hundred thousand pounds." Followed more than 90 films, many of which were as classic as "a politician Thanasakis" (1954), "and Kakrykostaioi Kontogiorgis" (1960), "The koroidaki of Miss" (1960), "Some Like It Cold" (1963), "My friend Lefterakis" (1963), "The Bait" (1964), "The Koroidara" (1967), "Stratis astray" (1969). In 1986 participates in the film by Theo Angelopoulos "Beekeeper." The assets are included, even three-discs with one of the Souris satirical, humorous story of two books, a collection of poetry and of course his autobiography entitled "A Dinos Iliopoulos name." He died on June 4, 2001.
