In memoriam

Bosnian Singer and Songwriter Dženan Salković (January 2, 1945 – July 20, 1989), also known as Đani, was a Bosnian and Yugoslav singer, songwriter, and doctor from Mostar. Throughout his career, he made notable contributions to the music scene, earning recognition for his distinctive songwriting and performances. In 1969, Salković wrote the song "Hej, Hej," which was later covered in 1978 by the rock band Drugi Način under the title "Prođe ovaj dan." In 1973, he composed the song "Jefimija" for the band Lutajuća Srca. The song won the Union of Composers of Yugoslavia Award that year and was inspired by the life of the medieval Serbian poet Jefimija. It was also a tribute to Spomenka Đokić, the lead singer of Lutajuća Srca and Salković's partner at the time. In 2006, "Jefimija" was ranked No. 94 in the B92 Top 100 Domestic Songs list, securing its place as a classic in the Yugoslav music legacy. Beyond his music career, Salković had a passion for recreational flying. Tragically, on July 20, 1989, while piloting a glider near Glamočko Polje, he suffered a fatal accident. He was 44 years old at the time of his death.
