Paybook photograph of TX241 Corporal Cecil John Pedley, 2/1st Machine Gun Battalion, Australian Infantry. Corporal Pedley, aged 28, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 25 May 1941. He was the son of Joseph Arthur and Helen Margaret Pedley, of Dunorlan, Tas. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 12. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in Deloraine Tas, also his name is located at panel 74 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial. Family Son of Joseph Arthur and Helen Margaret Pedley, of Dunorlan, Tasmania, Australia.
