Epitaph to George is inscribed on the side of his parents grave in Shrewsbury Cemetery

Killed in Action WW1 at battle of Salonica aged 33 he was a Lance Corporal in the 8th Battalion, Kings Shropshire Light Infantry (K S L I) serive number was 12713. His name is commemorated on the Doiran Memorial in Northern Greece near to the Yugolslav Border.
