George Ewing Russell

In memoriam

Although Salonika is now in Greece during WW1 it was part of Turkey. Son of Robert Russell and Jessie Wilson of Wheatlandhead Farm, Blantyre, Glasgow, Scotland. Brother to Elizabeth Ewing Russell, Thomas Russell (my grandfather), Robert Russell and Jessie Wilson Russell. George is buried in Salonika (Lembet Road) Military Cemetery in Greece and remembered on the tombstone on the family plot in Scotland. Cenotaph here
