George Skalenakis

In memoriam

George Skalenakis (May 17, 1926, Port Said, Egypt - September 14, 2014, Athens) was a Greek film director and actor. The Skalenakis graduated from the Prague Film Academy, where he was a classmate of his friend Milos Forman. Chosen by the great Katina Paxinou to direct the unique film in which the famous Greek artist starred speaking her mother tongue ("The Island of Aphrodite").
