VX20136 Posting on Death: 2/7th Australian Infantry Battalion, he was presumed dead in Crete. Vic. Paybook photograph of VX20136 Private Harold Edward Piltz, 2/7th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Piltz, aged 34, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 1 June 1941. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 11, also his name is located at panel 32 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
