Private 13279 12th Battalion Hampshire Regiment. Died on April 25th 1917, aged 26 years. Son of the late Bertha Briggs Woodward and Arthur Prue Woodward, 7. Royds Place, Rochdale. (1911 census - 103 Newhall Street Birmingham). Grandson of William (died 1901) and Emma Woodward, 60, Milkstone Road, Rochdale. Baptised 22.3.1891. Enlisted at Birmingham. Previously employed as a joiner. Sole legatee Annie Bates. Commemorated on Leamington Spa War Memorial.
