Ivor Alan Parkinson

In memoriam

Service Number: 3063 Unit: New Zealand Infantry 18 Battalion Son of Stanley Cole Parkinson and Helen Mary Parkinson, (Nee Capper) of Papakura, Auckland, New Zealand. Ivor was working for HJ Williams in Opotiki when he enlisted there on 26th September 1939. He embarked on the 5th January 1940 at Wellington aboard the HMNZ Transport 72 Orion attached to 18 Battalion, with 2 New Zealand Expiditionary Force. On 6th Jun 1941 Ivor was reported missing presumed killed in action on Crete.
