An Obergefreiter in 14 Kompanie Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 85, he died at Istibei [Fort Istibey on on Mount Bele]. Born in Hof. He is also commemorated at the Deutsche Kriegsgräberstätte,Sofia, Bulgarien.
