Marko Babic

In memoriam

Soldier. He served during the Croatian War of Independence, where he led the defense of an important road near Vukovar, during the battle for that City. He was second in command of the 3rd Battalion under Blago Zadro. He is credited with destroying 14 tanks, more than anyone else defending "tank graveyard," Tripinjska Cesta. The second episode of a 2005 documentary "Heroes of Vukovar" is dedicated to him.
