Šehid Mehmed ef. Hajrić was born on August 19, 1968, in Lepenica, Rogatica Municipality. He finished elementary school in his hometown, and then Gazi Husrev-bey madrasa in Sarajevo, where he graduated in 1987. After completing his military service, he entered the Faculty of Islamic Sciences in Sarajevo and was employed as an imam in the Podžeplje congregation in 1989, the Majlis of the Vlasenica parish. After the outbreak of aggression against BiH and the fall of the village of Podžeplje into the hands of the aggressors, he transferred to the post of imam in Žepa, where he immediately joined the ranks of the RBiH Army. He holds the rank of captain. In mid-April 1995, he was appointed president of the Žepa War Presidency. On July 27, 1995, he was captured by the Serbian aggressor. On July 30, 1995, it was registered by the Red Cross. On the night of August 15, 1995, after torture in the camp in Rogatica (Rasadnik), he was taken out, only to hear a gunshot, after which all trace of him was lost. He was found in a mass grave in Vragolovi on November 13, 2001, along with 8 other bodies of murdered Bosniaks. The funeral prayer was led by dr. Mustafa ef. Cerić, reisu-l-ulema.
