Royal Australian Artillery AIF Rank Bombardier NGX53 Place of Enlistment Rabaul, Territory of New Guinea. Posting on Death: 1st Anti-Tank Regiment, he was killed in action in Greece. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in Southport Qld, also his name is located at panel 18 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial. Son of George Robert and Isabella Jane Bertwistle, of Southport, Queensland, Australia.
