Top of the Headstone: "Rest in God's Peace" Under his name: "Notary Public" Then the birth and death dates, and under that the inscription "si sotia sa" which means 'and his wife' Bottom of the Headstone: "May the ground be light over you."

Petru was the Notary Public for the Village of Talmacel where he was born. He was fluent in Hungarian and Romanian languages, and could also write in both. Petru owned and ran the only General Store and Restaurant in the Village with the help of his family. He was a hard-working man who was dedicated to his Church, his family,and his community. He was a well respected man who gained the trust of all who knew him. His untimely death, at 58 years of age, left his family and his community greatly saddened by the loss. Petru I and Elena had five children: Daughter Ana, born 1869, who married Ion Patarau; Petru II, born 1874, who married Ana Radoiu; two more daughters, names unknown; Son Ioan, born 1891, who married Ana Dangel.
