Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield: PEARSON, SAM. Corporal. No S4/143815 485th Company, Army Service Corps. Born Burfits Road, Quarmby, Huddersfield. Son of Henry and Anne Pearson of Quarmby. Husband of Anne Pearson, of Leeds. Educated Oakes Council School. Employed as a managing clerk by Messrs Skinner and Gray, solicitors, Fountain Street, Halifax. Lived Vicarage Terrace, Kirkstall, Leeds and formerly of Coronation Road, Halifax. Enlisted October 1915. Died of malaria in Salonika on 18.11.1918, age 43 years. Buried MIKRA BRITISH CEMETERY, SALONIKA, GREECE. Grave location:- No 843. ROH:- Lindley Baptist Church; Lindley Zion Wesleyan Chapel; Halifax Civic Book of Remembrance.
