Paybook photograph of WX786 Corporal Thomas Richard Willoughby, 2/11th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Corporal Willoughby, aged 34, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 27 May 1941. He was the son of Robert Edgar and Annie Louisa Willoughby, and the husband of Muriel Edith Willoughby, of Scarborough Beach, WA. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 12. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in KALGOORLIE WA, also his name is located at panel 35 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
