Private 240820 1/6th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers. Killed in action, aged 24 years. Husband of Sarah Jane Taylor (nee Crabtree) - married in 1911 at All Saints, Hamer. Father of Lilian and John. Son of John and Hannah Taylor, 14, Water Street, Milnrow, brother of Elizabeth (b.1877), Rebecca (b.1879), William (b.1884) and Mary (b.1886). Enlisted at Rochdale. Died at West Krithia Nullah. Employed as a labourer at John Holroyds', Perseverance works, Milnrow.
