William Carolan

2857 Pte. William Carolan, 2Bn. Royal Irish Fusiliers. Died from the effects of Malaria and Blackwater Fever, possible at 40th Casualty Clearing Station Sturma. Son of John Joseph and Annie Carolan nee Hodgins of No. 4 Curry's Hill Drogheda Co. Louth, Ireland. According to 1911 Census entry, William was a mill worker prior to enlisting in the army.
