VX36804 Posting on Death: 2/7th AUSTRALIAN INFANTRY BATTALION. He was killed in action in Crete. Vic. Paybook photograph of VX36804 Private William John Trickey, 2/7th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Trickey, aged 20, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 27 May 1941. He was the son of Robert Joseph and Ivy Trickey, of Seymour, Vic. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 11. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in SEYMOUR VIC, also his name is located at panel 32 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial. Son of Robert Joseph and Ivy Trickey, of Seymour, Victoria, Australia.
