Rudolf Dolinar

In memoriam

This is the memorial for Rudolf Dolinar's cenotaph in Lučine. For his actual grave in Ljubljana (and links to family members), see Rudolf Dolinar . Rudolf Dolinar was a member of the Danica Catholic student organization. He was traveling home by bus from a student political demonstration in Styria when the bus was attacked by supporters of Petar Živković (1879–1947), leader of the Yugoslav National Party. Several students were wounded; Dolinar was separated from the group and found dead from his injuries the next morning. He was portrayed as a national martyr. A large funeral was held for him in Ljubljana and a grave marker was created by the sculptor France Gorše (1897–1986).
