Vukoman Aracic was a Serbian military leader during the Inter-Allied and World War I. Aracic began his career by graduating from a military academy in Belgrade in 1874. His first appointment was as commander of an engineering company. During the Second Serbo-Turkish War (1877-1878) as captain of the 1st class he headed the headquarters of the Jagodina Brigade during the conquest of Nis. During the Serbo-Bulgarian War of 1885 he was a major, acting as Chief of Staff of the Drina Division. In the following years he held a number of positions in the Ministry of War and the General Staff. In 1897 he was promoted to colonel. Three years later he was appointed assistant to the Chief of the General Staff, then he was commander of the Shumadia and later of the Timos divisional district. Retired in 1903, Colonel Aracic returned to service at the outbreak of the Balkan Wars. During the war with the Bulgarians in 1913 he headed the Timok army, which captured Kula and Belogradchik and surrounded Vidin. For these successes in November of that year he was promoted to general. After the outbreak of the First World War, General Aracic first commanded the Timok Division II Call, and later was placed at the head of the Uzice detachment. He fought with the Austro-Hungarians at Sabac (August) and Uzice (November 1914). In Uzice he fell ill with typhus and died.
