Stayed in Hungary after the death of his father Leopold. Count Hadik got him a position in the post office in Budapest, where he eventually rise to become Head Postmaster of Budapest. He was married to Anna _?_ and They had fraternal twin boys: Tibor (tall, blond and very Aryan looking) and Josef (shorter, stouter with the dark hair and eyes of the Silhavy's). Tibor went to medical school, Josef worked in the Budapest Post Office with his father. Tibor sympathized with the Nazis, Joseph helped hide Jews throughout Budapest. After his father's death (around 1938-39), Tibor turned Josef into the Nazis in order to further his career. He became head doctor at the Red Cross Hospital in Budapest, Josef was sent to a concentration camp. Josef survived, even meeting his future wife in the camp (you can't make this stuff up). Tibor joined in with the Russians after WWII, eventually moving there and becoming head doctor for with the Russian weightlifting or wrestling team at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. My mother, Irene McCarthy Petzolt, daughter of Aladar's sister Irene Silhavy McVarthy, attempted several times to contact him by phone at the Olympic Village, hoping to travel from Maine to Montreal to meet him. I was 16 and listened in on the conversation even tho I was told to go to my room. My mother was not allowed to speak with him, only to his (what can be termed) his handlers. We do not know if he ever got the message that his family wanted very much to visit with him. After WWII, Josef and his wife returned to Budapest, where they had a daughter named Marianne (actually born in a DP camp before they made it to Budapest) with his mother Anna. My grandmother kept in touch with them until her death in 1957. It's not believed that Anna had anything to do with Tibor after WWII. I have located Aladar's grandchildren in Budapest but have been unable to get them to talk to me. I continue to be hopeful. +
