2896 Gunner Albert Neil The Royal Garrison Artillery 20th Heavy Battery. Aged 27 son of William and Rebecca Neil, Friar's Gate, Kinsale, Co. Cork ---------------------------------------------------- Birth. James Albert Neil, son of William Neill and Rebecca Neil, formerly Savage, was born on 21 April 1888, at Pallastown, Kinsale, Co. Cork. His father was a Labourer. Recorded in the 1911 census as a 22 year old General Labourer. He was the eldest of the 10 children of William and Rebecca Neil who were all still living with their parents, at 2 Friar's Gate, Kinsale.
