In memoriam

Alekos Tzanetakos (1937-2010) was a Greek actor of old Greek theater and screenwriter. Born in Athens in 1937. He studied at the School of the Art Theatre of Karolos Koun and the Higher School of Film Stavrakos. He made his debut in the theater in 1957 with the troupe by Alekos Sakellariou and Christos Giannakopoulos in the play "Our people", while the Regional Theatre of Thessaloniki by Kostas Hatziskos appeared in roles classical repertoire. First appeared on the big screen in the comedy of Gregory Gregory "The Rape of Persephone" (1961), written by Iakovos Kambanellis. Later he participated in several movies such as "Elijah the 16th", "My Dad the tentimpois", "The trelopenintaris", "Some Like It Cold", "Law 4000" etc. In the early 1980s he retired from the theater and worked on writing scripts for videotapes in which he starred. The Tzanetakos was a race car driver and motorcycles taking part in the national championships and races of the season and noting many victories. He died in 2010 at the age of 73.
