Alexandre Morille was a farmer and signed his act of commitment in the military recruitment office of Ancenis (Loire-Atlantique, France) in 1915 Joined the 41 Régiment d'Infanterie on April 08th 1915. Participation in the battle of: - Artois (April - July) - Ransart, Ecurie, Roclincourt, Chanteclerc - Argonne (August - December) - Four de Paris Joined the 70 Régiment d'Infanterie on December 05th 1915. Participation in the battle of: - Argonne (December - January) - Fontaine-aux-Charmes, La Houyette - Verdun (February - June) – Bois de Récicourt, Côte 264, Charny, Thiaumont Joined the 171 Régiment d'Infanterie on June 10th 1916. Participation in the battle of: - Soissons (August) - Somme (September) - Ferme du bois l'Abbé, Bouchavesnes - Aisne (January - March 1917) - Chemin des Dames (April 1917) Evacuated on May 20, 1917 for pultaceous angina contracted during war operations - Vosges (June - December) - Col du Bonhomme, Saint-Dié Joined 84 Régiment d'Infanterie January 04th 1918 Left for the "Front d'Orient" (Macedonia/Greece) on January 25th 1918. Participation in the battle of: - The Vardar Valley in Macedonia (January – July) Joined the 04 Régiment d'Infanterie Coloniale on July 19th 1918 Battles in Serbia & Battle of Skra di Legen (Greece), French and Greek troops Evacuated (Illsness) on October 20th 1918 to Temporary Hospital 2 - Princess Marie, Thessaloniki Died (illness/wounds) on November 09th 1918 at the Temporary Hospital 2 – Princess Marie of Thessaloniki Buried in the French Military Cemetery of Zeitenlick, Thessaloniki (Greece)
