Service Number: 143446 Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) Awards: M C Additional information: Son of Maj. H. V. Hesketh Prichard, D.S.O., M.C., and of Lady Elizabeth Hesketh Prichard, of Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire. B.Sc. Hons. (Cantab.). He was recruited to the Special Operations Executive during the Second World War, where he became the first head of its Czech Section, training agents to conduct the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. The exact circumstances and place of Major Hesketh-Prichard's death are unknown. He was presumed killed by enemy or partisans on a trek from Yugoslavia to Austria, on or about 3rd December 1944. He was posthumously awarded the Military Cross (MC).
