HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR US
17310 Private Alfred Charles Simms, was Killed in Action on the 24th.April 1917, Aged 19, while serving with the 7th.Battalion, The Royal Berkshire Regiment. The War Diary of the 7th.Battalion entry for this day reported that 245 other ranks had been casualties following a failed British attack on the enemy trenches. Son of Isabella Simms, of 282, Oxford Rd Reading, and the late Alfred Simms.
