Amir Imamović

In memoriam

Šehid Amir Imamović was born on June 1, 1956, in Žepa. After finishing elementary school in Žepa, he enrolled in the Forestry Technical School in Ilidža, which he successfully completed in 1979. Since 1980, he has been working as a forestry technician in the Sjemeć Rogatica Forestry, until the outbreak of aggression in Bosnia and Herzegovina. From the first day he was a member of the RBiH Army and at the same time performed the duties of the commander of the Civil Protection of Žepa. On that duty, he was captured by Serbian criminals on July 27, 1995 at the UNPROFOR checkpoint, during negotiations with the convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić together with the commander of the Žepa Brigade, Avdo Palić, and the president of the Žepa War Presidency, Mehmed Hajrić. On July 30, 1995, it was registered by the Red Cross. After severe torture, in the evening of August 15, 1995, he was killed, for which there is a living witness. He was found in a mass grave in Vragolovi on November 13, 2001, with 8 other bodies. His funeral was held on July 22, 2005, after Asr prayers, in the harem of the Ali Pasha Mosque in Sarajevo.
