Ko se je l. 1910 pričela zidati nova šola, ko se je pred cerkvijo znižala državna cesta v dolgosti 200 m in se je s tem nasulo staro pokopališče in podaljšalo za 50 m, povišal in prenovil se je ta spomenik kot Trajen dokaz hvaležnosti do velikega dobrotnika šentviške šole. (In 1910, when construction of the new school started, when the state road in front of the school was lowered along 200 m of its length and the fill taken to the old cemetery to extend it by 50 m, this monument was raised and renovated as a permanent testimony of gratitude to the great benefactor of the Šentvid school.)
