Andrija “Jandra” Glasić

Andrija "Jandra" Glasic was born in Ciglenica, Garešnica, Croatia in 1928. He was the middle child of his parents Ivan Glasić (b. Ciglenica) and Marija Pernar's (b. Ciglenica) 3 children. His siblings were elder brother Djuro "Duka" and younger sister Dragica. Jandra married Roza (maiden: Franković). In 1953 Jandra and Roza welcomed their son Tomislav Glasić into the world. In 1967 Tomislav was killed in Ciglenica. Jandra and Roza would eventually migrate to Germany where they would welcome daughter Monica into the world. In 1981, Jandra passed away in Germany. His body was transported in a steel casket back to his village of Ciglenica, Croatia, where he was buried at the foot of his son Tomislav's grave and to the right of his parents, Ivan and Marija. At the time of his passing Jandra was survived by his wife Roza, his daughter Monica, his mother Marija Glasić and his siblings Djuro and Dragica Glasić. May he rest in eternal peace.
