Birth approx 1244 - Ruthenia, Rus' Death after 1262 - Probably Belgrade (then Hungary) Marriage 1 - 1255 Michael II (Asen) of Bulgaria 4th Emperor (Tsar) of Bulgarian Empire (1239–1256) Marriage 2 : 1256 Kaliman II (Asen) of Bulgaria 5th Emperor (Tsar) of Bulgarian Empire (1230–1260) In 1256 Kaliman (Asen) II murdered his first cousin Michael Asen I during a hunting party in the environs of the capital Tărnovo and usurped the throne. In the process he married Michael Asen I's widow, Anna. Kaliman II was unable to maintain himself on the throne. Rostislav advanced on Tărnovo from Belgrade, and Kaliman II fled the capital. Rostislav returned home with his daughter and claiming the title of Emperor of Bulgaria.
