In memoriam
Born in the village of Vrškovac, about three miles from Vivodina, Anton Lescanec emigrated to the U.S. in 1900 after his father died. He was naturalized in Anaconda, Montana while staying with "a Lescanec uncle" (Lawrence), and then settled in Detroit, Michigan where he spent the rest of his life. After he retired, he returned to Vrškovac, where he died. He is buried in the Petrov Vrh Cemetery, just up the hill from the Church of St. Lovro in Vivodina.
