Antonio Emanuele Ne Vunda, also Antonio Manuel Nsaku Nvunda (or Vunta or Funda) was an ambassador from the Kingdom of Congo to the Vatican, sent by the King of Congo Alvaro II 1604–1608 to Pope Paul V. Ne Vunda is now considered the first African ambassador to Europe in history. Ne Vunda traveled through Brazil and Spain and only reached Rome on January 3, 1608. However, Ne Vunda was very ill and died just three days after arriving in Rome.
