In memoriam

Son of Mary & John Fear according to service record (some confusion as this is a common surname in Somerset, and census records indicate an Arthur born to Bessie & Joseph, who were unmarried at the time, with same address). Lived Heath House, Sand Heath, Wedmore, Somerset, where he worked as a general agricultural Labourer for his Grandparents Louisa & Edwin Fear. He enlisted in 1913 (aged17y), trained and served as a Driver, initially with the 2nd South Western Motor Transport Divisional Brigade, Transport & Supply Column, before being embodied into the 5th Divisional Brigade Train ASC (based in Weston-super-Mare) from 1914 with s/n 155, until being posted in 1917 (to Avencus? Greece), again with the Army Service Corps with s/n T4/288008. He died at the General Hospital, Salonica, Greece. Brother: Henry Sisters: Maud, Daisy, Minnie
