Beatrix of Luxembourg

Queen of Hungary. She was the youngest of the three children of Emperor Heinrich VII and Margaret of Brabant. Her father had intended to marry her to Peter of Sicily, the son of his ally, or to Charles of Anjou the son of his rival Robert of Anjou, but neither marriage was realized after Heinrichs death. In June 1318 her brother married her to the Hungarian king Charles Robert of Anjou. Their marriage did not last long, as she died in childbirth a year later, being only 14 years old herself.
