Lance Sergeant Ellis, aged 26, died while defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion on 30 May 1941. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 11, also his name is located at panel 94 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Ellis, of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
