Cecilia Hidalgo Katacic

In memoriam

Cecilia Katacic passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on September 29, 2021 at the age of 78 in Split, Croatia. Cecilia was born in Quito, Ecuador on July 14, 1943, to her mother Mariana D valos and father Augusto Hidalgo. She was one of six children: Eulalia Cataldo (1936 - 2020), Fabian, Alfonso, Patricio, and Genoveva Robinson. Cecilia worked as a teacher in Ecuador before immigrating to California. There she married her loving husband and raised their two daughters in San Pedro. She was a dedicated mother, educator, and wife. Cecilia loved nature, animals, and the arts. She especially loved painting, gifting us with beautiful acrylic on canvas scenes from Ecuador and Croatia. Cecilia is survived by her husband Damir; daughters Alexandra and Erika; sons-in-law Domagoj Duvnjak and Tomislav Kozic; grandsons Matej and Marko Kozic; and many other close relatives and friends. She is resting in eternal peace in Lovrinac Cemetery in Split, Croatia. A memorial Mass will be held on October 21, 2021 in the Church of the Holy Cross of Christ (Crkva Svetoga Kria - Veli Varo) in Split, Croatia. Published by Daily Breeze on Oct. 13, 2021.
