During excavations for the construction of the Athens Metro system a large number of ancient artefacts were discovered. Many of these finds are on display in several stations of central Athens. In the concourse of Syntagma Station, behind a transparent screen, is a grave from the 4th century B.C., including its occupant: the skeleton of an unidentified Athenian.
