MILITARY CEMETERY OF NESTORIO

This is a military cemetery that contains 460 graves of members of the Hellenic National Army (officers, privates etc), fallen during the Greek Civil War, predominantly in the years 1948 and 1949 and some in 1947. The names, ranks and dates of death of the fallen are mentioned on the marble commemorative plates (on the left, next to cemetery's entrance) but the graves have just numbers (from 1 to 460) and there is no list available there, in order the numbers to be found to which person correspond to. Although these brave and victorious soldiers sacrificed their lives during the fierce battles of 1948 and especially of 1949 (last phase of the Civil War), their resting place seems neglected and forgotten, instead of being honored.
