Reformed Church of Sângeorgiu de Pădure
The Reformed Church of Sângeorgiu de Pădure is located in Sângeorgiu de Pădure, a town in Mureș County, Romania. It is located approximately 43 kilometers from Sighișoara, also in Mureș County, but Sighișoara is the closest city that was recognized by Find A Grave and it is for that reason it is listed as the location. The Reformed Church was built in the late thirteenth and early fourteenth centuries. It has belonged to the Reformed Church since 1640. The church tower was added during the Reformation. The patrons of the church were the Rhédey and Wesselényi families. It was rebuilt and restored in 1760. During a plague, the crypt below the church was closed by a wall by order of Gabriel Bethlen, Prince of Transylvania. The crypt of the Rhédey family is found in this church. The Rhédey Mausoleum, now in ruins, stands on top of a hill north of the village. The remains of Countess Claudine Rhéde
