Rîbnița New Jewish Cemetery
Jews in Rybnitsa: 163 Jews in 1847, 1,574 Jews lived in the town in 1897 from a total of 4,029 and 3,216 Jews in 1939. Currently the Jewish Community has about 400 members. The project was started by JewishGen, Bessarabia SIG at the end of 2014. All photographs were done by Galina Freidkina, the resident of Rybnitsa, Moldova. The New Rybnitsa Jewish cemetery is kept in a good condition, relative to many other cemeteries in Bessarabia/Moldova. It is a new cemetery with burials from the 1960s to current days. You can also find at the monuments names of family members and friends who were killed in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). All such names were entered and also searchable. Our members of JewishGen, Bessarabia SIG who translated the writings at these graves: Sheli Fain Terry Lasky Thank you very much, you did a great job! Thank you to all who sponsored the project and contributed money to make it happen. There are 825 grave stones at the New Rybnitsa cemetery, and for each of the graves there is a photo. All of them are uploaded to JewishGen / JOWBR. There is only one monument found without an inscription.
