24870 Private Charles Edwin Tegg, Died of Wounds received in action, at 28 Casualty Clearing Station, Karasouli on the 22nd.October 1917, while serving in the 7th.Battalion, The Royal Berkshire Regiment. Husband of Edith (b.13-2-1881) and father to Maud Evelyn (b.20-3-1911) of 21, Bexley Terrace, Clewer, Berkshire, later of 8, St.Andrews Villas, Clewer. At the time of the 1901 Census, Charles (17) employed as an 'Under Gardener', was living at Dickinsons Cottages, 2, Dedworth, Clewer Without, Windsor, Berkshire with his parents George W. (47) 'occupation 'Farm Labourer', and Sarah (55) plus four siblings, William G. (23) 'Farm Labourer, Jamie F. (19) 'Bricklayers Labourer, Arthur (12), and Lily A. (10). Charles married Edith Emily Green in the 2nd.Qtr.of 1910. By the 1911 Census, Charles was (27) who was employed as a 'Pleasure Gardens Gardener' was living with his wife Edith Emily (30) and baby daughter Maud Evelyn at 21, Bexley Terrace, Clewer.
