Parents: Fred Killick and Mary Ann nee SKITRALL Birth: GRO Reference: 1894 S Quarter in BURTON UPON TRENT Volume 06B Page 412 Baptised at Saint Paul's Anglican Church in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire on the 1st of July 1894. 1901 UK Census: Living at 9 Danbar Road in Leicester, with parents and 3 younger siblings and his paternal Grandmother Eleanor. 1911 UK Census: Living at 3 Merridale Road in Leicester, with parents and 5 younger siblings. Occupation: Fatting Cutter (Boot Trade) - Marital Status: Single Information from Service Record - Enlisted: 22nd of October 1915 in Leicester - Address: 61 Morton Road, Leicester. Aged 21 years and 4 months. Height: 5 Feet 11 and 3 quarter inches. Occupation: Shoe Lacer - Next of kin: Mother, Mary Ann. - Siblings: George Henry, Fred, Harry, Grace Eleanor, Nellie and Ethel. Cause of death: Malaria/Pneumonia Following is from service record: (Dated 16 November 1918) Was admitted to number 28 General Hospital at 0130 hours on the 13-10-18, suffering from pneumonia. He had been admitted to a Field Medical Unit the day previous. He was very unwell on admission here, and stated that he had a cold in the chest for some days. He gave me a history of one attack of malaria this year. On examination dullness was very marked over both lungs especially the lower lobes. His temperature was very high, and there was marked cyanosis. Stimulants and oxygen were administered, but the patient became delirious, and sank rapidly. He died at 0700 hours the same day. Cause of death was pneumonia, both lungs being affected. Certified that the disease was contracted during Military Service. Medals Awarded: British War Medal and Victory Medal
