Bombardier Leaver, aged 26, died on 27 May 1941, of injuries received when his gun accidentally discharged, during the defence of the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion. He was the son of Lillian A. Leaver, of Sydney, NSW. He is commemorated on the Athens Memorial Face 10. (Photograph supplied by the Army's Soldier Career Management Agency. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in KOGARAH NSW, also his name is located at panel 16 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial.
