Romanian diplomat. Romanian Ambassador to the US 1967 ~ 1970. In his youth he was a leader of the Romanian National Student Union. He broke with the Ceausescu dictatorship and took a prominent place in the new revolutionary government of Romania. Became Minister of State at the post-revolutionary Ministry of Foreign Affairs from December 28, 1989 to January 2, 1990.
