Entertainer. He was considered by many to be one of Romania's best loved singers. Some of his many recordings include, "Te-Am Iubit, Mario", "Te-Asteapta Un Om", "Trecea Fanfara Militara", "Nu Vreau Sa Plangi", "Prietene", and "Spune-Mi Mama Ce Mai Face." Born in Aliman, Romania, Spataru also tried his luck at acting by appearing in the 1970 film, "The Songs Of The Sea." He continued to work in music for many years until his death from a heart attack in 2004.
