WW2 Service Australian Army Rank Private NX5543 Posting on Death: 2/3rd Australian Infantry Battalion, he died of wounds in Greece. He is commemorated on the Roll of Honour in Oberon NSW, also his name is located at panel 30 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial. Son of Albert John and Ethel Marguerite Mary Oram, of Porter's Retreat, New South Wales, Australia. Nephew of Dame S. E. Oram of London - Decorated after Sudan War by Queen Victoria; Superintendent of Nurses at Boer War, decorated by King Edward VII. Received title of Dame. Dame Sarah Elizabeth Oram, DBE, RRC (25 December 1860 – 26 June 1946) was Principal Matron, Mediterranean Expeditionary Force and senior member of Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service (QAIMNS), serving as Matron-in-Chief from 1915 to 1919 during the First World War.
