In memoriam
Dora Tsatsou (1932 - 2000) was a Greek choreographer. Born in Kastella, Piraeus, she was the daughter of Constantine Tsatsos and Ioanna Seferiadou. He studied law at the University of Athens, but he dealt with dancing following a career choreographer. He first studied at the Pallou Manou School and then at the Marthas Graham School where he attended a scholarship. He settled in Thessaloniki and participated in the founding of the State Theater of Northern Greece. Between 1975 and 1981, she was a permanent choreographer of the National Theater, while she taught at the State School of Orthodox Art, which she served as director from 1980 to 1988. In 1992 she took over the direction of the National Theater, where she remained until 1993. He also taught at the School of Spyros Evangelatos, at the Moraitis School and elsewhere. Choreographers presented her at the National Opera, Epidavros and elsewhere. For the work of Dora Tsatsou, the book "Dora Tsatsou - Tribute" has been released. She died on 15 June 2000 in Athens from cancer. Her funeral was public expenditure, according to a decision of the Ministry of Culture. She was married to Alexandros Symeonidis, a medical professor, and had two sons, Constantine and George.
